Flagstick- Bentgrass

Flagstick is a bentgrass variety whose breeding focus has been on disease resistance. It is very well suited for mixing with fescue, as its nutrient requirement is lower than that of the average creeping bentgrass and it also has a moderate growth potential. It provides a dense and fine-leaved playing surface.

Below-average nutrient requirement and growth potential

Suitable for mixtures with fescue.

Creeping bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera) develops stolons, through which it forms a dense sward. Bentgrass greens require intensive maintenance to keep the surface in excellent condition year after year. Creeping bentgrasses have higher nutrient requirements than colonial bentgrasses. Fiber production is considerably greater in bentgrasses than in fescues, and fiber formation is also linked to the nitrogen level.
